Acapulco Stones
Walking by the Beach, feeling the salted breeze in your face, the warmth of the sun on your skin, the roughness of the sand on your feet and the sound of the water wave by wave is a peaceful experience. Until you step onto brittle pieces of plastic, many of them, tiny, colourful and shapeless. I started this project by collecting some of the debris in Acapulco, Mexico. Classifying them by colour, shape and size, like a gemstone but without its economic value. I then set them in metal structure like a gemstone setting.

People are curious when they seen them, and shocked when they know what it actually is. It makes them think first on the beauty of it but hopefully will impact them as an awareness.
