Re-Constructions

By wrapping with a piece of cloth an object and then rubbing it with crayon I obtain an image made out of lines seen only when the cloth is unfolded. The image seems exploded, the object is barely recognised. It’s a 2d drawing, I think of it as a blueprint. I then retrace these lines with wire wax and start to construct and fold these lines until a new 3d object is made. It is then casted in brass and painted with two colours of powder coating, one for the front and one for the back.

By deconstructing a 3d object into 2d drawing and then re-constructing it again I intend to show the lines, texture, dimensions and forms of what the object was in a new way, in a new piece.
